Health & wellbeing

Linger retreats include daily movement sessions, swimming, excursions, and hands-on workshops. Your wellbeing is our priority. Anything you share regarding your health and wellbeing is shared only with Linger team members.

Section 3

Travel insurance

As a condition of participating in a Linger retreat, all guests are required to hold valid personal travel insurance covering medical expenses and emergency evacuation, trip cancellation (including COVID-19 and other illness), and other unforeseen circumstances. Linger is not liable for any costs arising from a guest's failure to obtain adequate coverage.

Section 4

Liability & indemnity

Please read the following carefully as well as our full Terms & Conditions.

Assumption of risk. I understand that retreat activities (including daily movement sessions, swimming, outdoor excursions, and hands-on workshops) carry inherent physical risk. I voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, arising from my participation. I acknowledge that participation is entirely voluntary.

Release of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, discharge, and hold harmless Linger With (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 2024/253230/07), its directors, employees, contractors, artists-in-residence, movement instructors, chefs, massage therapists, and venue partners from any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death arising from or connected with my participation, except in cases of proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct on Linger's part.

Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and defend Linger and its representatives against any and all claims, demands, costs (including legal fees), or liabilities arising from my own acts or omissions during the retreat, including any injury or damage I cause to other guests, third parties, or property.

Property. I accept personal liability for any damage I cause to retreat venues, accommodation, furnishings, or other property during my stay.

Emergency medical treatment. I authorise Linger to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to consent. All costs of such treatment are my sole responsibility. I acknowledge that any first aid provided by Linger staff carries no warranty of proficiency or expertise.

Force majeure. I understand that Linger is not liable for retreat disruptions or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government action, civil unrest, or strikes. Linger will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer alternatives but cannot guarantee refunds or compensation.

Fitness to participate. I confirm that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in retreat activities. I have disclosed all relevant health information in Section 2. Linger is not qualified to evaluate my fitness and participation is voluntary and entirely at my own risk.

Cancellations & refunds. Cancellations made more than 90 days before the retreat start date will receive a 50% refund of payments made, less the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made within 90 days of the retreat start date are not eligible for a refund. This is why Linger requires personal travel insurance for all guests. I have read and understood this policy.

Governing law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Linger handles your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the jurisdiction where your retreat takes place, including POPIA (South Africa), the GDPR (EU and UK), and applicable US state privacy laws where relevant.

Should any provision of this agreement be found unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect. Where applicable, Linger's total liability shall not exceed the retreat fees paid by the guest.

Section 5

Photography, conduct & community

Photography & media consent

A professional photographer is present at every Linger retreat. As our gift, all guests receive a curated high-resolution photo gallery after the retreat ends. Linger may also use retreat photographs and videos for promotional purposes, including our website, social media, and marketing materials.

Yes, full consent. Linger may use photos and videos in which I appear on its website, social media, and in marketing materials. Guest gallery only. Please check with me before using images of me in any public-facing content. No consent. Please do not photograph or film me, or if I appear incidentally, do not share those images anywhere, including the guest gallery. I do not wish to receive the guest gallery.

Community & conduct

Linger is a safe, inclusive, women-centered space that welcomes cis-women, trans-women, and non-binary people. We have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, or any discriminatory conduct. By joining us, you agree to the following.

I will treat all fellow guests, staff, artists, and local partners with respect and care. I will not take phone calls in shared spaces, and I will keep my phone away during movement, meditation, massage, and workshop sessions. I will not create any commercial content at the venue or on retreat excursions, run brand promotions, or publish sponsored posts during the retreat without Linger's prior written consent.

I understand that Linger reserves the right to remove any guest from the retreat without refund if their behaviour is deemed harmful or disruptive. I also accept liability for any damage I cause to the venue, property, or natural surroundings.

Terms & conditions and declaration

I have read and agree to Linger's full Terms & Conditions, including all policies on booking, payment schedules, cancellations and refunds, itinerary changes, and visa and passport responsibility (which are solely mine).* I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older and am legally competent to enter into this agreement.* All information I have provided in this form is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge.* I consent to Linger collecting and holding my personal information for retreat administration, emergency medical assistance, and registration, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.*
